Orbi RBR50 is not supporting 900Mb+- on the WAN to LAN test
So I'd like to call NG's attention to the following test results for Orbi RBR50. I'm not seeing anything near 900mbps on the WAN to LAN test. Using both iPerf and Duckwares simple WAN to LAN test pro...

Hello everybody,
I have XFinity Gigabit and the same issue:
Xfinity > CM1200 > RBR50
Speed in RBR50 (per "integrated" speed test ~950Mbps
Speed on PC (hardwired) ~ 500Mbps
Interested in a solution as well

Recently switched my Orbi setup from AP to Router Mode. I also have Xfinity Gigabit plan. A couple of quick speed tests from various sites show similar results, ~800Mbps-900Mbps over LAN client. Not sure if it makes any difference, but I ticked "Disabled SIP ALG" and select "Open" instead of "Secured" NAT Filtering. YMMV.
See attached file.

Thanks for posting this SW_ I'll check these settings out with my RBR50 and see if this changes anything for me.

I gave this a try, factory reset and setup from scratch, disabled SIP ALG and selected OPEN For NAT filter. RBR50 still doesn't see much over 400Mbps. Tried two different PCs aswell. Maybe this might work for some.

So I wanted to try something with my RBR50 and see if it would even see anything near 900Mbps WAN to LAN behind another RBR with actual live 1G ISP services that I just got activated Friday.
1Gb/50Mbps: CM1100>RBR850 router mode><DMZ for RBR50 router mode>Wired PC
And i'm seeing just over 700Mbps with Ooklas speed test app in Windows 10x64 on the RBR50 in router mode WAN to LAN:
Something I haven't seen with just the RBR50 between two Gb LAN PCs and a switch testing internal iPerf speed testing.
Makes me wonder if HW NAT accelleration or Cut-Through detection is not detecting correctly or operating correctly.
I've got to find time to put the RBR50 online behind the CM1100 directly and see what happens.

Ok, so I connected my RBR50 to WAN port #2 on my CM1100 cable modem. RBR50 is on WAN port #1. 1Gb/50Mbps
RBR50 is seeing near 900Mbps with my wired PC speed testing thru the RBR50 using Ooklas installable speed test app in windows 10: Orbi FW v40
Makes me wonder if type of modem or something in the RBRs detection of modems on the WAN side and such could be playing a roll in this. If I take the RBR50 and test it alone with just two PCs and a Gb switch, the RBR50 won't see anything much over 400Mbps. Seems like the RBR50's detection on the WAN side maybe a factor here.
So for this test, the RBR50 connected to a CM1100 cable modem is seeing near 900Mbps.

Netgear technical support opened an issue more than 1 month ago for this problem but they haven't solved anything yet, or at least they haven't contacted me again. So I have solved it in a different way.
I took advantage of the fact that the product was still under warranty to return it to the shop as defective and they gave me my money back. With that money, and taking advantage of Black Friday, I have bought another wifi mesh router (of another brand obviously) that works as it should and has more features.Bye bye Netgear!

Congrat on your new mesh!
I also took advantage of Black Friday and got 2nd RBK53S from Costco for $300 bucks, which is more economical than a single outdoor Satellite RBS50Y. I also looked at the new Google WiFi set, but it doesn't have any Ethernet port, which is a non-starter for me.
Can you share which mesh you opted to go with?

With the latest firmware v2.5.1.8, Orbi is able to hit ~900Mbps in AP Mode or ~700Mbps in Router Mode.
Wireless backhaul is around 400Mbps-500Mbps:

Thanks for your information.
I can also confirm that with the new firmware (V2.5.0.108) installed it is working much better. I'm getting a much higher speed (~900Mpbs).

Good Morning: I am running the RBK53S-100NAS from (Costco) (Firmware V2.5.1.8) on a Macbook Air (Catalina OS) everything is updated. I had ATT Fiber 300 Msps and I could easily get ~ 350 down and ~350 up using the Orbi on Wifi. I ugraded to ATT Fiber 1000 and using the Orbi in the Router mode, I can only get ~ 380 down and ~ 400 max up. I called Netgear supprt (2.5 hrs on the phone) and they said I should be getting ~ 500 Mbps down and up via Wifi. Hardwired I am close to 850 -900 Mbps. Should I return this router and try another brand?

I changed the 5GHz channel (i think from 44 to 42) and now my wifi speeds are 362 and 460 so that's a bit better. Still not close to 500+ as I was told. Thanks
