Orbi RBR50 loosing connection frequently
I have Orbi RBR50 (v 2.7.2.104) with 2 satellites it has been loosing connection every 2 hours. Works fine after a reboot
The router is in router mode. Wow is the internet provider and there is no issue from there end as when a laptop is hardwired to modem there is internet access.
Can someone pls help

Re: Orbi RBR50 loosing connection frequently
Before doing the reboot, can you look at the Orbi log file to see if there is anything about the internet connection in the log?
See page 97 of the Orbi User Guide: https://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/RBK50/Orbi_UM_EN.pdf

Re: Orbi RBR50 loosing connection frequently
Sorry about my confusion. There is a difference between
- Being unable to connect to the Orbi WiFi and
- Being unable to connect to internet resources (such as web pages) and
- Being unable to connect to the internet in any way.
The end result is the same ("damn thing doesn't work"), but there perhaps are different causes. I was hoping to rule out some issues by seeing if the Orbi log mentioned anything about the internet connection. That laptop could be connected to the Orbi using an ethernet cable and used to look at the log.
So when this happens, the Orbi ceases broadcasting WiFi? Or, it continues to advertise WiFi, but no devices can connect?

Re: Orbi RBR50 loosing connection frequently
Did you power OFF modem and RBR for 1 minuted then back on to see if you got a connection?
Try v16.
Users are encouraged to contact NG support to let them know what your having problem with.

Re: Orbi RBR50 loosing connection frequently
I have this same issue with a Motorola Modem or an Arris modem and my RBR50. I rolled back my firmware to three different versions and it still kept dropping connection to the internet.
Did you ever find a solution?

Re: Orbi RBR50 loosing connection frequently
What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Are there any top ring indications happening on the RBR when this happens?
https://kb.netgear.com/31030/What-do-the-LEDs-on-my-Orbi-mean
Do both wireless and wired devices loose connection to the internet?
Can you access the RBRs web page when this happens?

Re: Orbi RBR50 loosing connection frequently
Yes ...what worked for me is
Did a reset of Router and Satellite
Disabled day light savings
Disabled traffic metering
Since then (knock on wood) it has been fine
but also since then the Netgear app on android has been acting up. Takes a long time to load and crashes often tying up the phone.
Was hoping someone from Netgear will read the post and repond but no such luck

Re: Orbi RBR50 loosing connection frequently
What happens if you re-enabled DST and ensure your Time Zone is set correctly?
Netgear has set up a community forum specifically for the Orbi App product. Most of the people who watch that forum are more likely to have experience with Orbi App and know how to work it better than those of us who follow this "general Orbi" forum. Might be more likely to find someone who has a solution if the question is posted there:
https://community.netgear.com/t5/Orbi-App/bd-p/en-home-orbi-app
Might remove the app then re-install it.
