Orbi RBS50 locked up
for the past several weeks I noticed my WiFi seemed a bit slow (80-90 down, normally in the 400s) so I did a reboot of my main Orbi RBS50 router. After rebooting one of my satellites lost connection and would not reconnect. I tried rebooting it with no luck and I tried pressing the sync button on it and my main router with no luck. I tried holding down the reset button with no luck. I have a solid green light above the power button on the back of the satellite, but it never changes color or goes out while I hold in the reset button and the blue or sometimes purple light on the top of the unit never turns on. I just passed my 1 year warranty and after contacting Netgear Support was told that the unit died and that I should just buy a new one. I asked if I could pay to have it repaired and was told no, I asked if I could get a discount on purchasing a new one and was told no.
Is there anything that I can do to troubleshoot this unit before I scrap it and buy something else. With netgear’s lack of customer support I will probably just go with another brand.

So do you see the back LED turn amber if you press the back reset button for 15 seconds then release? If no, then I presume the RBS is hosed. Might ask about an RMA.
What FW is loaded on the RBR?
What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router and satellite(s)? 30 feet is recommended in between RBR and RBS to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected. https://kb.netgear.com/000036466/How-far-should-I-place-my-Orbi-satellite-from-my-Orbi-router
