Orbi router doesn't connect
My Orbi RK50 worked fine for ten months. Yesterday I had to reset the Spectrum cable modem for a smart thermostat problem. After rebooting, the Orbi system would not work. The router's top ring just flashed white. After trying multiple times, I reset the router and the satellite. My problem seems to be that the Orbi router is not creating its own network. Bottom line, I go through the procedure via the app. And then when it comes to the satellite, the app says it can't connect with the Spectrum Cable network. Furthermore, on the Spectrum cable modem, the plug does not light up when the Orbi router is connected (like it does with Sonos). I can't log in via the web, I've tried EVERYTHING multiple times. I'll make it even crazier. Very occasionally the Orbi network shows up, but no password works and then it disappears. I'm sophisticated, I've spent 7 hours troubleshooting this to no avail. Any insight would be appreciated. Thank you.

Re: Orbi router doesn't connect
What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Can you use a wired PC and web browser to walk thru the RBRs setup wizard?

Re: Orbi router doesn't connect
Can you use a wired PC connected to the RBR or a wireless PC or latop to connect to the RBRs default SSID name and PW?
There is a sticker under the RBR with default SSID name and PW info

When I plug the Ethernet cable from my Ubee router to the yellow internet plug on the ORBI the plug on the Ubee does not light up. But if I plug it into a different Ethernet jack on the ORBI the light on the Ubee does.
Rebooting the Spectrum router may have cause you to lose connection to the Orbi router.
If all else fails when this happens, verify that you have internet by directly connecting to the Spectrum router. Once you verify you have internet, factory reset the Orbi router, plug a cable from one of the LAN ports on the Spectrum router to your WAN port on your Orbi router, turn on the Orbi router and try re-setting it up.

So you had internet at the Spectrum router?
Maybe the Orbi didn't fully reset.
I call it a stubborn router when this happens. I find the following usually works:
Unplug the Orbi power supply from the wall leaving the power supply plugged into the Orbi and press the power button to the on position.
Let it sit for more than 2 minutes, I wait 5.
After that press the power button to the off position, plug the power supply in the wall, press the reset button, holding it in while turning on the Orbi router.
Keep pressing the reset button until you see the power light turn red, then green.
Wait for the top light to blink white
connect the Orbi router to the Spectrum router and install.

Re: Orbi router doesn't connect
So if you factory reset the RBR and ethernet connect any pc or laptop to the RBR, you can't see the setup wizard in a web browser pointed at 192.168.1.1 with the RBR disconnected from your modem?
Regarding your cable modem/router. This would be a double NAT (two router) condition which isn't recommended. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT
https://kb.netgear.com/30187/How-to-fix-issues-with-Double-NAT
Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.
3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the Orbi router to the modem, configure AP mode on the Orbi router. https://kb.netgear.com/31218/How-do-I-configure-my-Orbi-router-to-act-as-an-access-point and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7LOcJ8GdDo&app=desktop
