RBR50 mystery - PlayStation forcing star topology
Hi all.
I have an RBR50 and 3 RBS50 satellites, all on the latest firmware (updated manually). My house is long and thin, with the RBR50 toward one side by necessity. I therefore have one satellite in the centre of the house, and one to the far side - until recently this was connected via daisy chain, and working well.
Recently, the daisy-chained satellite started to jump directly to the main router, forcing a bad connection (600Kbps from 26Mbps).
This was driving me mad, but through trial and error (and a lot of factory resets) I think I’ve located the issue - the PlayStation that is connected to the problem satellite. The jump from daisy chain to star configuration happens shortly after the PlayStation connects to the internet.
This only started a few weeks ago, and there was a PS5 firmware update on 13th Sept. I can’t see anything in the release notes that would seem connected, but there are always misc performance improvements.
Does anyone know why this might be happening, or how I might try and fix it? Or whether this is impossible, and just some sort of coincidence?
Wisdom or conjecture welcomed!
