VLAN configuration digital television

Hi all,

This question might have been asked several times before but I don't seem to find a straightforward answer yet...

We're moving to a new house that has digital cable TV (over coax). I want to purchase the Orbi system to provide my entire house with perfect WiFi coverage and to have access to network ports where needed. However, the digital TV decoders need to be in the same IP range as the main router delivered by the service provider. Let's say they're in range (10.0.x.x) and my network would be (192.168.1.x).

I read that VLAN configuration might be used to specify which ports should connect to the first router in the chain and thus obtaining an IP address out of the 10.0.x.x range.

I this possible with a port that is on one of the satellites?

How should I proceed to make this possible?

Thank you in advance for your support.

Kr,

Jérôme
