Wi-Fi faster than ethernet
My ISP is Spectrum in Los Angeles. Previously, my CBR40 worked fine, however I noticed that the speed for downloading is now at 90Mbps when connected to Ethernet and 475Mps when connected to Wi-Fi. I tried a re-boot, a new cable and also plugging into a different port and still. have the same speed afterward. I wouldn't mind so much, but I have a switch connected and don't want to see the devices plugged in there to suffer the speed slow-down. Is there anything I can try?

Re: Wi-Fi faster than ethernet
Are you connecting through the switch with what device you're testing on?
Have you tried testing a different device connected directly to the router?

Re: Wi-Fi faster than ethernet
Thanks for the great suggestion, I tried once again with the following devices:
- Original test - M1 Mac mini / 90/24 connected directly via 2 foot cable to CBR40. (475 via Wi-Fi)
- 2017 15" Macbook - I had to use a USB-C dongle with an ethernet port 60/24 (165 via Wi-Fi)
- iPad Pro - using the same dongle 95/24 (475 via Wi-Fi)
- LG TV connected to a switch (25' ethernet cable run from the switch to the router) 52/22, (50 via Wi-Fi, same room as router)

Re: Wi-Fi faster than ethernet
I don't have any satellites, but I did try testing from different ports, the speed was very much the same via different devices. It's interesting that it caps out around the 90 range.

Re: Wi-Fi faster than ethernet
Hi there, I went to look in the settings, and found this but the field is blank. I've been using Wi-Fi since, but when connected via cable to the CBR40 I used the first of the four ports. (Though I tested on others.) I hope this info helps, not sure where else to look.

Get the whole wan/lan. Trying to find out what the lan is showing up connected at while a device is plugged in.

What ever is pluged into LAN port 1 is only connecting at 100Mpbs and not at 1000Mpbs.

Re: Wi-Fi faster than ethernet
try replacing the cable with at least a cat 6 cable. And try it on different ports to see if its related to the port.

Re: Wi-Fi faster than ethernet
Thanks for your help, I checked that I'm using a CAT6 cable and also tried different ports. Still the same.
