problem with security

I have an RBR50 orbi with 2 satellites. I run an application on a computer on my network. It relies on another computer on the internet to communicatew with it . I open the proper port and the communication seems to be blocked. When I try to open a web page on the remote computer I get blocked  as well  I believe by the armour application I subscribe to for normal threat protection. . How can I insure that I can give specific access to the remote computer. Is there settings for armour I can setup ? I don't know how to access the armour to even see what it is blocking

Thanks

Re: problem with security

This web page implies that Armor settings can be accessed on the web:

https://kb.netgear.com/000059462/How-do-I-launch-the-NETGEAR-Armor-portal-through-the-router-web-int...

(I must confess that I have never enabled Armor.  Once I saw "Free Trial", i.e. a teaser for a paid service, I lost interest.)

Most of the Internet of Things (IoT) devices operate by having the device open a connection to the vendor's cloud, which provides the pathway for communication in both directions without forwarding a port.

If your application requires forwarding a port, it is essential that there be only one router, to avoid the dreaded "Double NAT"

When you check "What's my IP address?" with one of the many web sites, does it show the same IP as in the Orbi web interface, Advanced Tab, Internet Port?

Examples of web lookup sites are:

https://whatismyipaddress.com/

https://www.whatismyip.com/

https://www.iplocation.net/find-ip-address

This web site specifically tests for open ports: https://www.grc.com/shieldsup
