How to solve intermittent hang issue in zoom calls with Orbi AX4200

My device is AX4200 with 1 router and 1 sattelite

The wifi seems to be workign well except 2 problems

1. During zoom calls taken on lenovo laptop, the video intermittently hangs

2. My sons Samsung Note9 drops wifi connectivity randomly and frequently. (turning off wifi on phone and reconnecting solves the problem)

I have tried to change 5 GHz channel numbers, but it does not help.

Many sites talk about daisy chain and/or beam-forming. But I don't see setup for that on AX4200. (Does it still exists on AX4200).

Need help because even though, I am happy about coverage and speed, the above 2 issues are show-stopper

What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?

What is the distance between the router and satellite(s)? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR and RBS to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected. https://https://https://kb.netgear.com/000036466/How-far-should-I-place-my-Orbi-satellite-from-my-Orbi-router
https://kb.netgear.com/31029/Where-should-I-place-my-Orbi-satellite

Try disabling AX mode on the RBR as a first step.

Then try setting 2347 for CTS Under Advanced Tab/Advanced Settings/Wireless Settings.  Set 20/40Mhz Coexistence to 40Mhz only. Set Short preamble instead of Long preamble modes. Save settings and reboot the router and satellite(s).

Is Armor enabled?

Daisy Chaing and Beamforming are automatic on Orbi AX systems.

Re: How to solve intermittent hang issue in zoom calls with Orbi AX4200

Im in a similar boat. I have an RBR850 with wired backhaul to 4 RBS850 satellites.

I have three devices that experience intermittent drops: They are all chromebooks (2 2020 Galaxy Chromebooks, 1 2020 Acer 713), and they all have WiFi6.

The devices will show full signal strength (WiFi Strong) and drop out of a Zoom/Google Meet call while still showing strongl strength WiFi. My fix is to disable then enable WiFi on the Chromebook, and that ultimately leads to reconnection to a farther away satellite.

Only having this problem with Chromebooks. Only with WiFi 6 Chromebooks, as well.

I'm on 2340 right now. I don't want to disable AX since that's why I made this massive investment

Try with AX Mode disable just to see if this changes anything...

Re: How to solve intermittent hang issue in zoom calls with Orbi AX4200

Thanks.

My ISP is RCN, but I use my own cable modem, which is netgear CM1000 DOCSIS3.1 model (I have been using it for over a year with a ASUS router, with no problems)

In my new setup, the Orbi router is on first floor and the satellite (1) is on second floor about at a opposite corner (so > 30 ft apart)

The router RBR750 (& satellite RBS750) FW version is V3.2.16.6_1.4.4

How do I disable AX mode?

I tried setting 20/40MHz coexistence to 40MHz only, but it didnt help. CTS/RTS threshold is currently set to 64. And preamble is set to automatic mode.

I disabled ARMOR as a first step, but it didn't help. (I have left is disabled)

Regards

You can disable AX mode on both or either radio separately. Under Basic Tab/Wireless

Try CTS at 2347...

Did you do a full reboot of the RBR after disabling Armor?
