Orbi Satellite RBS850, blinking white, won't reset, Bricked?

Hello,

I have a brand new (1 day old) Orbi Satellite that I believe has bricked itself.  Yesterday I set up my new orbi system and everything was working great.  Today I noticed that one satellite was blinking white.  I contacted support and spent an hour with them trying to reset & resync the satellite (at which point I assume they all went home, no response in chat & it's not available anymore?).

Symptoms:

1. blinking white light

2. cycle the power, power light comes on red, goes solid green for a while and then back to red, then green for a while, & the cycle keeps repeating.  I think it's caught in a reboot loop.

3. connected my computer (manually configured to a 192.168.1.X address) to the satellite with lan cable, I'll get a link for a few seconds and then it goes away.  Pinging 192.168.1.1 gives "no route to host" for a while, then I get a couple "Request timeout"s, then I get 3-4 pings (between 0.289 ms & 0.143 ms), then I get a few more "Request timeout"s, then it goes back to "no route to host".  This has been tried with two different computers and three different lan cables, all with the same behavior.

Request timeout for icmp_seq 55
ping: sendto: No route to host

Request timeout for icmp_seq 57

64 bytes from 192.168.1.1: icmp_seq=60 ttl=64 time=0.169 ms
64 bytes from 192.168.1.1: icmp_seq=61 ttl=64 time=0.143 ms

Request timeout for icmp_seq 65

4. satellite will not factory reset.  If I hold down the reset button, then the power led stays solid green, it never goes to amber.

I wonder, could the satellite have bricked itself while trying to auto-update its firmware?  Do Orbi's even auto update firmware?

Needless to say I'm quite frustrated.  I don't want to waste another hour on chat with support only to have them ghost me again.  I'm tempted to just return the whole system.

Any suggestions (other than returning the whole system?)

As I suspected the satellite was stuck in a reboot loop.  RMAing a replacement.

Re: Orbi Satellite RBS850, blinking white, won't reset, Bricked?

My router and working satellite are on V3.2.15.25 (V3.2.15.25_1.3.15).  No idea about the dead satellite.
