Orbi range weak right outside front door
RBK753 (AX4200) - wouldn't show this as an option
Is very strong across entire 2,500 sq house - right outside our front door - very weak coverage. Please help! Router is in basement - but at front of house.

Basements are not recommended places for wifi routers. Concrete and steel will inhibit wifi signal travel and coverage. 1st or main floor are best locations.

WiFi signal strength is reduced when they pass through denser materials. Basements tend to be horrible places to locate WiFi systems. The walls are almost always concrete. There is almost certainly a concrete/brick sidewalk leading up to the front door.
Perhaps it would be useful to make a rough diagram of the building and indicate where the Orbi router and satellite are placed and what building materials signals pass through. On the attached drawing, for example, a WiFi radio placed in location A will have a tough time passing through the concrete basement wall and sidewalk, whereas it might be capable of reaching a satellite at location C. WiFi at location B would probably "blast through" the front door just fine, whereas radio from location C would be passing through the entire house.
A lot depends on (a) where the ISP service enters the house, (b) where there are devices needing internet access (wired and WiFi), and (c) how difficult it is to place ethernet cables up from the basement.
Any progress on this?
