I have had Orbi's before this one so I'm aware of the preferred placement. My question is will I hinder the signal generated by the device if it is too close to the ceiling? Lower level finished basement. I have grandsons who are tornados and I'd like to get the device placed on a shelf - open to the front and sides with a drywall wall behind (open behind wall) and drywall ceiling above. I have the device located behind the drywall wall and elevated 4 feet above the concrete floor and 3 feet below the drywall ceiling.
Thanks,
Pat

That will be fine. Netgear even sells an accessory to mount Orbi units on the wall itself.

(other options on Amazon) Of course, a shelf is "free".
