Guest Network Issue

So when I had first purchased the orbi 970 (2 pack) which comes with one router and one satellite. I followed the instructions just like every other routers i had in the past and installed both the router and satellite via wired backhaul and it works fine. With only the 970 orbi i noticed the issue with the guest network. i called netgear and told them the whole issue. they sent me over another replacement unit and that also had the same exact issue where if any of my device that was connected to the guest network and would come close to the satalitte, it would look like that connected device would not have no internet access at all even if the wifi bars were full. So then i decided to return both the replacement and the original unit back to netgear because i was also having the pixel 8 pro issue. But then you told me that you guys have found a fix for the pixel pro 8 phone and thats when i decided to buy the product again. I turned on the guest network and its the same issue with the devices not being able to have no internet access only when they are connected under the satallite. If they are connected to the router under the guest network then the devices work absolutely fine. in the couple of days i actually powered off my satallite and was able to use the guest network flawlessly. Now i currently have the satallite installed and turned off the guest network. I did not touch any thing else on the admin settings.

So after couple of days with having both the router and the satallite on wired backhaul, I can finally say that the guest network is working flawlessly after this new firmware update. The only one issue that I am still having on my pixel 8 pro is that sometimes just randomly I get a no internet connection message on my phone. I then have to go into my wifi settings and click on my primary SSID and click on disconnect and then click on reconnect and then it works. I notice it happens a lot when ever I leave the router and get connected on the satallite or vice versa and I get that same error message that I have no internet and that's when I do that same steps in order to gain wifi access.

Re: Guest Network Issue
If you connect the RBS wirelessly to the RBR does same problem happen?
His is the one RBS connected to the RBR? Directly behind the RBR or is there a LAN switch in between or a patch panel?
Which port are you using on the RBR to connect the RBS?
What CAT# LAN cable is being used between them?
What security mode are you setting on the Guest Network?

Re: Guest Network Issue
And there both connected directly beind the RBR? No LAN switch?
Is one RBS connected to the 1 10Gb LAN port? Or are both connected to on of the 4 other LAN ports in back?
I just checked mine. GN enabled and using mixed mode WPA2 and WPA3. Android pad and Iphone 12 Pro Max both connected to the RBS I was nearest. RBS wirelessly connected to my RBR.
Streamed some HD video from youtube. No issues. Speed test returns good.

Re: Guest Network Issue
Ok. Maybe some odd behavior that needed a disable then re-enabled.
Glad it's working. Enjoy.

Re: Guest Network Issue
I recommend that you update to this if you see this version in orbi app:
If you do, have it download and update the system.
Once system is back to ready, power OFF the RBR and ALL RBS for 1 minute then back ON.
With the RBS will wireless, test Guest Network. If all is good, while RBS are ON, ethernet connect them to the RBR.
Then test Guest Network.
Let us know what you find.
