Re: RBE 971 RESTART ISSUE FEW TIMES A DAY
Hi from Los Angeles. We're having the same issue. Beginning to think this product (at least with its current firmware) is a dud.

Re: RBE 971 RESTART ISSUE FEW TIMES A DAY
What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6A STP is recommended.
Who is the ISP your connected with?
Does the front LED on the RBR turn PINK when this happens?
Is IPv6 enabled or disabled on the RBR?
How many RBS are deployed?
What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router 📡 and satellite(s)🛰️? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR 📡 and RBS 🛰️ to begin with depending upon building materials when wired or wirelessly connected.

Try disabling the following and see:
Armor, IPv6, All Logging on the RBR. Smart Parental Controls or Circle, Traffic Meter.

Re: RBE 971 RESTART ISSUE FEW TIMES A DAY
Firmware: V9.12.5.3_1.3.24
Modem: Sercomm ES2251
Cables throughout the house are all CAT6A
ISP: Charter Spectrum
RBR lights only flash white (no pink)
IPv6 appears enabled(?)
2 RBSs are deployed
House is about 2000 sq ft with some thick plaster walls...
Upstairs RBS is placed to also cover back yard
RBR and satellites are all about 30 ft from each other...
connected by Ethernet backhaul (through an unmanaged Netgear switch)

Re: RBE 971 RESTART ISSUE FEW TIMES A DAY
When I had the white version Rb971 with the latest firmware I never had the reset issue, I went and get the black version and updated it to the new software here comes the restarts. It happen like 3-4 times per day.

Re: RBE 971 RESTART ISSUE FEW TIMES A DAY
Perhaps you would enjoy a crazy experiment?
There have been discussions on the Forum regarding using an inexpensive USB powered fan to pull air through the Orbi router case. For example:
https://community.netgear.com/t5/Orbi-WiFi-7-BE-Mesh-Systems/Adding-Orbi-970-fan/m-p/2422372
The specifications clearly state that the RBE971 operating temperature is 32 to 104 degrees Fahrenheit. However, a number of people ave found that adding a fan seemed to make the router more stable. These fans are available on Amazon for under $15.
Speculation is that although the router is clearly designed to operate up to 104 degrees, perhaps some units left the factory with improper application of thermal paste and components overheat. If you add a fan and the router stops rebooting several times a day, that would probably be justification for a replacement.

For this size of home, only 1 RBS would be needed. Can you please turn OFF one RBS and test?

Are the RBS ethernet connected to this switch or are they wirelessly connected to the RBR?

Re: RBE 971 RESTART ISSUE FEW TIMES A DAY
Let me start by thanking you for taking the time to help me solve our Orbi 9 router restarts.
Can you instruct me on how to actually disable IPv6? When I go to ADVANCED>ADVANCED>IPv6 in the router's settings, I don't see any such option.
(I'd also love to find a way to turn off the router's 6 GHz frequencies - as our two iPhone 6 Pros regularly get hung up trying to connect using Wi-Fi 6E protocol; our workaround is to turn Wi-Fi 6E to "Off" on our phones, but the current iOS cycles the setting back to "Automatic" after a while and then we get stuck again.)
Even though our house is only 2000 sq ft, both RBSs are required in their current locations. Downstairs NE corner must remain to hit a very sensitive Ring bridge that communicates with 12 path lights. Upstairs SE corner must remain to reach two Ring flood cams, a ChargePoint unit and to penetrate the detached garage and cover the yard beyond it. The RBR is in a telecoms closet next to the office on the west side of the house where the modem's coaxial lead lands and where our NAS server is attached.
The switch that connects the RBSs (via CAT6A runs to the basement) is a Netgear GS605v5.
I have now turned off Armor. Everything else you suggested, except for IPv6, has been off.

Re: RBE 971 RESTART ISSUE FEW TIMES A DAY
Hmmm, try under Advanced tab/Setup/Internet and see if there maybe a IPv6 tab here?
Ya no way to disable wifi radios. Only the IoT network can be.

There's no IPv6 reference there.

Supposed to be here:
Advanced tab, Advanced section, and IPv6 has its own entry underneath Advanced.

Re: RBE 971 RESTART ISSUE FEW TIMES A DAY
Thanks. To this layperson, the options were ambiguous. If you're suggesting "DHCP," that's what it was set on.
