Dual XS728T Setup with Proxied Gateway's

Good afternoon all

I come to you seeking advice. ( I asked for advice recently, But i did not knowall the facts at the time
and the solution given would not suite my setup)
I have been tasked with settng up the two new XS728T Switches we have.
They will replace 3 GS724T

We have a a Proxied Virtual Router Setup from our ISP
It's purpose is to manage when and if we have a fault on our main internet Line

Basically like this
Virtual IP = 192.168.0.1(main gateway)

Router 1 = 192.168.0.251

router 2 = 192.168.0.252
The Virtual IP will then direct traffic to the current main port for internet use.

Now onto my issue

Our intention was to have one router in switch A and another in Switch B
This would give us redundancy if a switch goes down.

I have setup two Vlans

One unfiltered with a direct connection to the internet(this one can see both Router IP's)
And a second filtered Network (this traffice runs from switch A into DDOS, From DDOS into Switch B VLAN 2)

How can i get VLAN 2 to see the Second Router port plugged into switch B?

  • What is the point for this request? The XS728T is in no aspect a router, and even less a HA system.

Wild guess, your router 1 + 2 does have at least two free ports available, this is where the XS728T can be connected to offer an Internet uplink, it will serve as the default gateway .1 - nothing difficult or complex.

No idea what the intention for multiple VLANs for the Internet connection should be, what for you plan to create additional VLANs for Internet purpose.
