GS728TPP fails to communicate using AMF735 SFP modules

I have a Netgear GS728TPP (FW v6.0.9.3) that needs to communicate with a 100mbit device over a short multimode fiber connection. The Netgear switch will not talk using the 100mbit AMF735 module, but will talk to a different device using the AGM731F gigabit module. I thought the GS728TPP supported both the 100mbit and 1gbit SFP modules. Is this not true?

The GS728TPP(v1) had the AMF735 listed on the data sheet as supported. According the v6.0.9.3 firmware (outdated, see https://www.netgear.com/support/product/GS728TPPv2#download ), you seem to have a GS728TPPv2 - it's data sheet does not show the AMF735.
