"NEW BETA* RAIDiator 4.1.8 really?
Holly Molly <censored> <censored> ! My eyes must be deceiving me, 4.1.8...
Thank you Netgear team.
So there still might very very very slim chance we can see 3TB support.
I'm still not giving up, lost my job recently so no cash to upgrade to intel-based chip NAS.

Re: "NEW BETA* RAIDiator 4.1.8 really?
The chances are slim as in, if 3rd party kernel development somehow resumes on the platform then there'd be a slight possibility 3TB support would be added. I don't think 3rd party kernel development is likely to resume for the Sparc platform, so I doubt 3TB support will ever come to the NV+.

Any chance that the woeful performance with Windows 7 will be addressed?

What do you mean by 'woeful' performance?

Re: "NEW BETA* RAIDiator 4.1.8 really?
I was referring to the poor networking performance with CIFS shares on my NV+ (4.1.7) which has been widely reported. I recently discovered that Administrative Tools>Local Security Policy>Local Policies>Security Options>Network security:LAN Manager authentication level>Send LM & NTLM - use NTLMv2 session security if negotiated, dramatically improves both the speed and reliabilty of connections. However Local Security Policy is not available on the lower versions of Windows 7 and so I have been uable to patch all my computers.

To add this on Win7 Home, add add a DWORD value called LmCompatibilityLevel to HKLM|System|CurrentControlSet|Control|Lsa and set the value to 1
I have the 64-bit version of Win7 Home, so I added a 64-bit DWORD. Speed went up dramatically 🙂
See http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc960646.aspx for a description of LmCompatibilityLevel
