tried to download the 4.2.20 beta

I'm having issues with my readynas and my new macbook pro so thought I'd try this beta and see if that helped but it fails on the upload and verify step.

I have 4.2.19 right now.

With my older MBP (2008) everything seemed to work fine Now with my 2011 MBP i can upload files to the readynas ok if I'm on my wifi but not if I'm connected via ethernet. The copy starts and just hangs. Whether it's wifi or 1gb ethernet it's the same router (airport extreme) so i doubt it's the router and using the ethernet I can access other file servers and stuff in the house just fine.

Is there a problem with the 4.2.20 beta image that's available?
any other ideas on my problem?

thanks,
Bill

Re: tried to download the 4.2.20 beta

Is this with your NVX?

Have you tried changing ethernet cables to a known working Cat5e or newer one?

Does a direct-connection (http://sphardy.com/web/directconnect) between your MacBook Pro and the NAS work fine?

Does your older MBP still work fine with the NAS?

As for installing the beta firmware, if the download of the firmware update is incomplete it will fail the verification check. The 4.2.20-T7 firmware image file is 60893184 bytes in size.

Re: tried to download the 4.2.20 beta

I did some copies with a Mac Mini here that's still running 10.6.x and it's seeing really poor performance to the NVX as well so I think it's definitely with the nas device.

I"ve also heard of my customers complaining about apps running slow from time to time recently as well and they are on windows systems.

I'm wondering if the performance hit came when I recently went from the 4.2.19beta to the final release of it.

The link you gave isn't working for me so I'm not sure how to try that direct connect.

I"ve rebooted the nas a couple times, did a scan of the file system on the last and it found no errors.

Is there a way I can look at more detailed logs to see if my nas is having issues?

I also checkd the size of the downloaded beta code and it matches what you said it should so not sure what's up there.
