ReadyCLOUD client keeps on connecting for ever

I have a readycloud installed on my windows 10 laptop. After upgrading to the new readycloudclient software it worked for a long time.

I suddenly have a problem with connecting. The following situation applies:

- I am signed in

- The connecting pictogram keeps on turning

- I have stopped the firewall -> no succes

- I have stopped the antivirus -> no succes

- I have reset the readynas physically -> no succes

- Several resets of my laptop -> no succes

- I CAN get into the website acces to my NAS though! I can see and use my directories there. Everything works!

- I need the VPN connection because my Onenotesystem synchronises with it, and al my work is related to it.

Can someone please help me with this problem?

Hello Durdane,

May I ask what is the FW version of your ReadyNAS?

Also, do you have the computer connected to VPN at the same time when you try the ReadyCloud app? If so, does it work when the computer is not connected to VPN? What is the version of the ReadyCloud app installed?

Welcome to the community!

I am having the same issue, under MacOS and iOS, I am using ReadyCloud Client v1 for Mac and I am able to connect directly to the NAS through the finder.

Re: ReadyCLOUD client keeps on connecting for ever

Hi JennC,

- I have the last firmware: 6.4.2

- I can see and use my NAS with use of the website: http://readycloud.netgear.com/client/index.html#page=manage > Works as a charm

- Sorry for the misunderstanding, but i was reffering to the VPN-function of ReadyCloud itself, not another one, or the one of windows or something.

- The version of the Readycloud client is v1.9

Thanks for helping

Michael

Hello Durdane,

I just tested on my iPad and Windows and both works. Can you try uninstalling the ReadyCloud app then reinstall?

Re: ReadyCLOUD client keeps on connecting for ever

Hi JennC,

I already did that twice, but luckely I have a solution already.

I uninstalled a restore point of my windows 10. It was the lates restorepoint concerning a windows 10 update. Afterwars it said that it didn't restore though, because of my blocking antivirus (AVG). Ieft it that way.

The next day my firefox through wifi was slowing down. And suddenly ReadyNAS indicated the following message:

'Online VPN disconnected.
Network Error.
(X)   ReadyCLOUD server is unavailable.'

Which was actually a good sign because I realised my internetconection was gone. My wifi connection was strong though. I decided tot reset my internetmodem and after the reset Readcloud worked like a charm!

My guess is that resetting my computer to a windows update/restorepoint was not the solution. Instead I think that resetting my modem did the job, since the latter was slowing down already and the wifi connection was strong at the same time.

More then one thing could have happened in my opinion in my modem. Maybe a blockage, a disturbed (hardware)firewall setting, or something else. I don't know.  I am happy though that everything works again, it gave a lot of stress.

I hope that other people can use this information.

Thanks for your help.

Michael

Re: ReadyCLOUD client keeps on connecting for ever

Hello Durdane,

I'm happy to hear that it is working now. It is possible that there was a firewall on the modem/router blocking it.

Please feel free to post any suggestions, inquiries or questions again.
