Enable Remote Access Fails - "Incorrect request format, try again."

I no longer can login to my router using genie app remotely , the remote access is not Turing on anymore and it gives me “Enable Remote Access Fails - "Incorrect request format, try again." I updated the router to the latest software. Can you someone please help ?

Is that the Android genie or the iThing genie? It might make a difference.

Did you reset the router to factory settings after the firmware flash?

New firmware sometimes introduces changes that are not compatible with the old configuration.

So while it isn't guaranteed to fix problems a factory reset is the first thing to try if you have issues with new firmware.

 

If you do reset it, remember to enable remote access again. Indeed, check that it is still enabled before you reset. Maybe the firmware flash turned it off some how.

   Is that the whole message?

   An actual version number would be more informative than your opinion
of what's "latest" (today).  If the trouble began when you updated the
firmware, then you might want to try reverting to an older version.
