Parental controls not working via desktop Genie
I was previously using Netgenie app on Windows PC to manage basic Parental Controls via the OpenDNS login. Was very happy with the service and ability to change filter levels for individual devices on the network.
I decided to try the Disney app parental controls so activated it from the router weblogin however I found the Disney mobile app was very poor so therefore wanted to revert back to using OpenDNS via Network Genie. However, it seems impossible to re-enable the capability. Once enabling, all looks good from the Genie view (photo below) but when I hit 'refresh', the status always changes back to 'disabled' (second photo below)..
Would appreciate any guidance you guys have to fix please....

I recommend that you visit and post about this over in the Genie forum:

Also be aware that I've seen some release note information that NG maybe moving away from Controls using OpenDNS. I've seen some recent FW updates saying this feature has been removed.
Something to ask NG support about.
Good Luck.

Forget it. Free, or basic, Parental Controls are no more.
Netgear has announced that it is killing the free Live Parental Controls.

Instead, Netgear has a raft of paid for subscriptions. These may or may not work with your router.

Forget about wasting your, and our, time by going to the "genie section". For a start, beyond reporting its death, that section has little to do with the desktop genie. (It is essentially for the mobile version.) Then there is the point that this issue has nothing to do with the genie itself but is a router side thing.
There's a slight chance that you might find more in the section for your hardware. That's probably here:
Nighthawk WiFi Routers- DodgeThisAspirantThanks for all the help. Have niw gone with free (Basic package) of Circle.. Takes a little time to set up but actually I think it will be quite useful.

Now I know what to tell others who turn up here ion search of parental controls.
Thanks again. Certainly something appropriate for people who visit this section of the community.
