Update

When I've attempted to do an update from the site, the message "Attempting to connect to Netgear Server. Please Wait..." continues to link but not connection is established.

The manual file isn't updating either. Is this a sign that the router is too old and no longer supported?

Re: Update

what error are you getting when you manually update?

An issue many run into is they don't extract the zip file after downloading it.

Also, what firmware are you attempting to install?

what version are you on?

That is the 2011 version of a device first launched in 2009.

Not the most capable router in the market, with ancient wifi technology. But fine if it meets your needs.

No reason why it should not update using the instructions I linked to. It may lack some of the fancier ways of working with a router, such as an app for a  mobile phone.

Netgear withdrew the Genie App some time ago.

You already have the latest firmware, released in 2017:

There won't be anything newer.

Your call.

I didn't mention it, but a lot has happened on the security front since they made your router.
