netgear44 wnr1000v4 password problems

I am trying to set up my new cell phone and it will not accept my password for my netgear. I know it is right.

Which password is this? The default for the wifi on the router label?

Can other wifi clients connect to this wifi?

What message do you see when you try to connect the new phone?

What is this new phone?

As you can see, there are plenty of holes in the information you provided. I can think l of other things that could cause problems, but best deal with these first.

While many questions about routers are generic and could be answered anywhere, some things need specialist knowledge.

You might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:

I had no problem using my wifi wtih my tablet. It works fine. Just the cell phone will not. I have a tracphone and a moto phone and neither will take the password for my wifi. How many devices can you use with a netgear44?

This suggests that the problem is with your wifi devices and not the router.

What does "neither will take the password for my wifi" mean?

What messages do you see when you try to login?

Have you told the tracphone and moto phone to forget their connection to tour router and set it up from scratch?

There is no such things as a "netgear 44". That is probably the default SSID for your router.

Is that what you see on the router's label?

There will also be the default wifi password there. The label also has the model number for your router:

model number

What is it? And what is the modem/gateway in front of it?
