I'm unable to sign into my Netgear account from the app on my phone. I can use the same user name and password and log in on line with no problem. I'm looking to update my firmware

Which "Netgear account" is that? You donlt need any "account" to use or manage a router.
Login to what? Nighthawk app? The router? The wifi? Something else?

Thanks for the instructions. I realized as you asked more questions that I was confusing my Netgear account with my router sign in and after recovering my router sign in and connecting with an ethernet cable, I was able to update my firmware. Thanks (next time I'll be more specific 🙂 )

Netgear has just too many logins and passwords. No surprise that people get confused.
