I have a vulnerability ID: NON-2015-0211 on my Netgear Router WNDR3700v2, so I need help.
I have noticed that there is already repair firmware door others routers, but sadly not for the WNDR3700v2? Why not?
I need a new firmware ASAP please.

WNDR3700v2 Vulnerability
I have had some feedback from Netgear about the WNDR3700v2.
This router was declared End of Line (EoL) some time ago, the last firmware released in December 2013, with the SOAP security issue reported 14 months later in 2015.
While this may be a disappointing outcome for you, this approach to EoL products is in line with common business practice for home grade networking devices.
There are steps you can take to ensure that the vulnerability has no impact as described here
Hope that helps.
Regards,
Andy

Hi Andy,
Why a private message?
In responds of that, yes it is disappointing.
Looking for it - see http://www.netgear.com/landing/eol.aspx - it appears that all the wndr3700 versions have an end of live (EOL). Even the latest version 5.
I understand after reading the text of the url mentioned above, that the risk is limited.
Anyway, thanks for the responds.
Regards
Peter

Re: wndr3700v2 - NON-2015-0211
I’m not entirely sure if your issue relates to the link below, I’m not familiar with that vulnerability ID;
I don’t see the WNDR3700v2 in that list, which suggests that it doesn’t support the function which would make that vulnerability effective.

Re: wndr3700v2 - NON-2015-0211
Hello Andy,
Nice such a fast responds:-)
I got the warning Non-2015-0211 from my Avast scanner (new installation).
Searching for that I found this message: WARNING Vulnerability ID: NON-2015-0211 on my Netgear Router WNR2000v3
My question is the same and there for related to that message.
In respond of your message I have searched in the Admin of my router. This I found by USB-app. http://readyshare.routerlogin.net/shares for port 80 is activated. Its used for the printer in my homenetwork.
V | HTTP | http://readyshare.routerlogin.net/shares | 80 |
I noticed that 3700v4 en v5 has "No need to fix"
Does this mean dat the earlier versions does not have "ReadySHARE"?
Will you check it?

Re: wndr3700v2 - NON-2015-0211
I find that using the Private Message system can sometimes give me greater scope for dealing with individual issues, if that’s not what you want then fine.

Re: wndr3700v2 - NON-2015-0211
I get the same response on my WDNR3700V1.0 and I updated my router to the latest version "
WNDR3700 | |
Firmware Version | V1.0.16.98NA |
GUI Language Version | V1.0.0.64 |
I do not have remote sharing enabled, or my ready share enabled either. I even switched my DNS to "safe DNS" servers.
Avast says they have Hyjacked my router and to upgrade firmware. all the settings I can control are considered safe, so
I need help thanks

Re: wndr3700v2 - NON-2015-0211
I also have a wndr3700v2 with firmware 1.0.1.14 (latest reported) and windows 7 and 10.
On both Avast claimes my router is infected, although I have all the functions disabled. (wifi is not even enabled, but if it is I only allow acces based on MAC adress).
I know this router is EOL, but since its still widely used you would expect a company like Netgear to adress this problem at least to patch this.
Otherwise I must buy myself a new router, and then it certainly wont be any Netgear coming in the house ever again, or in my recommendations to other users that i help in my work

Re: wndr3700v2 - NON-2015-0211
Hi,
Mine latest firmware is newer: V1.0.1.14
It does not matter. It changes nothing:-(
So I can't understand why there is the question what firmware is installed....
It looks if you can aspect help form the Community Team, but the answer was already given: No there will be NO UPDATE as the router is EOL
The answers form the Community Team will be give in a private mail, so the negative solutions are not published in this blog. It is a way of handling.....

Re: wndr3700v2 - NON-2015-0211
The discussion here was about the wndr3700v2, not the WNDR4700 🙂
So a different version is logic

Re: wndr3700v2 - NON-2015-0211
@Admir57590 I'm waiting for a response from our engineering department if there will be a firmware update on that model.
For the meantime, make sure that you have updated the settings of your router according to the alerts from Avast.
See this link for more info.

Re: wndr3700v2 - NON-2015-0211
Ok i will wait your answer. Regarding the alerts from Avast i already adjusted the settings on the router. After changing again i have those alerts. I believe that my router have been efected because few days ago i got a message from google.com that from my IP have attack the page and they disabled the page to open from my IP. I did forward all http coming to my router to an unused IP for the moment, but the only solution remain to update the firmware.

Re: wndr3700v2 - NON-2015-0211
@Admir57590 Based from the response I got, there will be no firmware nor future updates to be released on WNDR4700.
It's already considered EOL. The best recommendation is to get a new router.
