wndr4500 warm reboot green power led blinking
interesting failing router. I've already replaced it.... but its an annoying fail, in that it is still working except after a warm reboot or power off/on.
If the router is cold started after about >20mins or so. It boots fine, no loss of settings. completely functional until the next warm reboot or power on/off. and then we get the flashing power light. it even still shows a internet amber and port active too.
PSU have tried 3 different Netgear 12v 3.5amps all from working devices.
Interally no domed caps all look sound, no obvious heat issues. Seems to be warm start ram/firmware issue.
Reflash of the last firmware is next on my hit list.
Any other thoughts than its toast. ?
Cheers
Shaz

Re: wndr4500 warm reboot green power led blinking
thoughts or other things to try?
Stick a cooling/laptop fan on it.
Heat is the death of electronics and it tends to escalate. Once a component starts over heating it escalates as it becomes less efficient and therefore using more energy/generating more heat.
You can try a cooler and see if it helps.
Or you can simply replace it.
The WNDR4500 is a couple generations behind on tech
