A6210 high latency/dropping requests to router
Hey, I have had a Netgear A6210 for about a year now but am only more recently trying to fix a problem I've had the entire lifespan of this product. At first I noticed I would get random lag spikes for about a second when playing games such as Counter-Strike, without the games networking graph displaying any problems. So this lead me into my windows command prompt, where I have been pinging 192.168.1.1 continuously, which shows that I have little spikes of high latency, but also little spots where I will drop requests to my router.
Currently, I am using the Mediatek driver that people have been saying to install but to no avail. I have went into my device manager and I do NOT have an option to turn off minimize power consumption, so I can not do Netgears recommended setting of disabling that feature. What I have done however is turn off automatic network switching and set my dongle to use 5G only, but that has not helped either. I do not have anything in the path of my dongle which could cause interference in the connection and am running out of patience since I've dealt with this issue for so long. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
TLDR: Dropping packets to my router, have tried the follow to no avail:
- Using Mediatek drivers
- Using the .25 driver from Netgear
- Using the latest driver from Netgear
- Turning off minimum power consumtption (don't have the option to modify it)
- Turned off automatic network switching
- Turned off 2.4g connections
- Moving my cellphone away from my dongle
