Netgear A7000 is scanning...
I have been using the netgear A7000 for a while but one thing bothers me. In the windows system tray the netgear icon is red and it says Netgear A7000 is scanning... I cant click it I cant do nothing to the icon. When I pull up netgear genie to see if something is wrong it says it is fine(Even though the genie wont let me update it) Can someone tell me what it is doing?

Netgear icon? Does that mean that you are using the Netgear "genie" with the USB adapter?
You don't need it. You can install the driver only version of the A7000 package. and leave it to Windows to manage the device and the network.
On which, what version of Windows? Netgear has a hard time keeping up with new versions.
While many questions about routers are generic and could be answered anywhere, some things need specialist knowledge.
You might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:
WiFi Adapters - NETGEAR Communities
You might like to search there for messages related to your problem.
I will ask the Netgear moderator to move your message.
In the meantime you could visit the support pages:
Support | NETGEAR
Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware. Look at the label on the device for the model number.
Check for various troubleshooting tips.
You may have done this already. I can't tell from your message.
I mention it because Netgear stopped supplying printed manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.
