Destination can not be mounted

Heys Gents.

I have A problem with my Readynas when it tryes to do scheduled backup jobs.

It has worked flawlessly untill around the latest update.

Im backing up from readynas to my Timecapsule.

When I go into settings on each task and to a Test Connection it test it ok.

When trying to run the job it comes up with the following message.

Destination can not be mounted on the system.

How come it can test the connection ok, but when it has to do the job it fails ?

Hope someone can help.

Re: Destination can not be mounted

Can you tell us what NAS you own (and what firmware it is running)?

You might want to look here: http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/29961?utm_source=community&utm_medium=announcement&utm...

What protocol do you use to back up the NAS to the time capsule?  What settings are you using in the backup job?

"Test connection" ought to be completely aligned with the backup job itself, but it for some reason it never has been.  I've also seen it pass when the backup job fails (and vice versa).  That might be partly because "test connection" isn't reading or writing any files.

Re: Destination can not be mounted

So you think I should upgrade to the Beta firmware ?

Protocol has never been changed as it has worked in the past.

I'm not seeing any fixes specific to your problem in the beta - the SMB fixes seem to be aimed at accessing the NAS, not backup jobs.

However, there are some more basic fixes (including fixing some bugs in the arm processor ethernet drivers).

It's worth a try I think, you can downgrade back to production 6.4.0 if it doesn't work (or otherwise misbehaves).

You could also contact support, and see if they will help (though I don't think I'd pay for support, since the issue was a result of the upgrade).
