Does Netgear still produce/manufacture and support NAS computers?

Dear Forum Members

Forgive my silly question but over the past few years I've noticed the fall off of new ReadyNAS devices being introduced into the marketplace. Also, I noticed recently, from a ReadyNAS user, that Netgear no longer has any interest in providing support for existing ReadyNAS users.

So does this mean that Netgear has abandoned the ReadyNAS brand and all devices that fall under that name?

Any info will be gratefully received.

They haven't said anything.

But

  • the newest ReadyNAS models were introduced 5 years ago
  • it is difficult to impossible to find a new ReadyNAS to purchase
  • people here are finding it increasingly difficult to get Netgear support.

So it does look like quiet-quitting.

Hi Stephen

Just to mention, I've also noticed that the prices on Ebay (UK) of pre-used ReadyNAS devices have gone up as well, i.e. like having to pay a "rarity value" premium.
