Hello ndverge,
How about the mapping the NAS' hostname and assign a drive letter for it?

No. When i have to configure new computers that may be a problem with those new users who are not in our company.

Re: NAS not showing under Network again after update to 6.4.2
Both my RN102 and RN202 show up under network (on Windows 10) and both are running production 6.4.2.
Unfortunately showing up under network has been hit-or-miss for years (and I think is the same with all NAS). Adding a network location in file explorer is one workaround, putting a shortcut on the desktop is another. I understand this is extra work when configuring a new PC, but I don't think there is a silver bullet to fix this.

No, he's saying that it is a possibility that it might remain. You can try downgrading to 6.4.1 and find out, if you want. Let us know of the outcome.

Re: NAS not showing under Network again after update to 6.4.2
I downgraded. but no any chance to win the war. Still the NAS device is missing in the network list.
what to do?

Re: NAS not showing under Network again after update to 6.4.2
If this is with Windows 10, I think there might be some fixes coming from Microsoft (at least I recall seeing a post to this effect on another thread).

Well, as I said earlier this is very hit-or-miss (and has been for a long time). It's hard to tell if its a bug in Linux or Windows. You can waste a lot of time trying to wrestle this to the ground.
One thing to check is the workgroup settings on the NAS and PC - they should match.

Hello ndverge,
It must be the network is becoming to strict, firewall blocking it probably.

Re: NAS not showing under Network again after update to 6.4.2
It could also be an issue in the switch. It has its own layer-2 routing tables, and might not be distributing the discovery traffic correctly. Rebooting the switch clears the tables, and it broadcasts everything until it rebuilds those tables again (looking at the mac addresses that are active on every port).
