Netgear ReadyNAS - remote command line SSH Access - video
Hi guys, I shot a video on Netgear ReadyNAS remote command line ssh access. And discussed few ways you can directly monitor and diagnose the system. You can also use the command smartctl available for a typical Linux system (like CentOS/Ubuntu/Fedora/RedHAT), and monitor your disk status. Although this is not a technique recommended for basic level NAS user, but if it happen to be case if you are an advance user, and or a systems admin, you can take advantage of the same. Write your own gcc-arm cross-compiled C-programs and scripts to remotely custom monitor the same. Besides you can also get information like its kernel version, /proc/cpuinfo, ifconfig output, and so on. Since you get a direct root access, you should however access your NAS device this way with extreme caution 🙂
