ReadyNAS 3312 - Drive map error 'The password is invalid for ...'

Hi,

My ReadyNAS1 is configured to work with my AD domain. I have created two shares. One named 'Users' and another named 'Database'. Both have identical network access and file access settings. When I map a drive to \\ReadyNAS1\Users everyting is fine. When I try to map a drive to \\ReadyNAS1\Database, I get a message that the password is invalid and I am prompted to enter a username and a password.

To map the drive I use the command: NET USE V: \ReadyNas1\Database /Y

The idea is that I can write unattended backups from my databases to the share. This is now impossible. What do I need to do to remedy this situation ?

Regards,

Gerrit Breebaart

Try using

net use * /delete

net use V: \\ReadyNas1\Database /user:Database database-user-password

I have decided to move away from scripts and use the group policy editor. Perhaps more appropriate.

Hello GBHamish,

Thanks you for the update, it appears you will edit the permission through the group policy editor Active Directory. Please keep us posted on the progress of the concern.
