Readynas 526X - Mapped drive slow to connect then works fine

Model: ReadyNAS 526X

Firmware: 6.9.2

Windows Server 2016 with Windows 7 and 10 workstations

Issue: I have the ReadyNAS mapped to a drive through a GP, and all users have a long initial connection to the NAS. Once they connect, browsing is fine. After about 10 minutes, this behavior returns. Disk spin down is turned off.

What steps or information is needed to help troubleshoot this?

Model: RN526X| ReadyNAS 526X 6-Bay with up to 60TB total storage

Which services are you running?

Any apps?

How many users roughly do you have?

Just using it as a file share, no services or apps running from the ReadyNAS.

We have ~20 people with it mapped.

Is the NAS in the same workgroup / domain as your workstations?

Re: Readynas 526X - Mapped drive slow to connect then works fine

It was just "plug and play"ed on installation. Would this be causing the lag at start, where the user is trying to get authentication to the NAS? Where would these settings be to check this?

Thanks for your help

Just following up on this. Where would these settings be, to check?

Thanks,

On the NAS it is under accounts->authentication in the web ui.

On a Windows PC, right click on "This PC" or "My Computer" and select properties.
