Dear all,
I´d like to change the password of my useraccounts. Now it does not permit me to do so; If I try to change the password, I have to change the user name as well. Is there any solution?
regards,
Joop

Dear Stephen,
I tried on another computer and then it worked, retried on this computer and it doesn't. So, not completely satisfactory, but still resolved .
Best regards,
Joop

What firmware are you running? Is this a local NAS user account, or is this a ReadyCloud account?

Re: changing password user account ReadyNaS 102
Hi Stephen,
thanks for replying,
I just updated to: 6.8.1
This is a local NAS user account, not ReadyCloud,

Joop

Re: changing password user account ReadyNaS 102
I just tried it on my RN526 (also running 6.8.1), and had no problem. I did that from the accounts tab in the web admin ui.

Re: changing password user account ReadyNaS 102
Hi Stephen,
that doesn't really help, ....
is there any restriction perhaps to usernames, that previously there wasn't? My usernames are short, like Joop .

Re: changing password user account ReadyNaS 102
They can be short. Linux user names need to start with a letter, but can also contain digits, -, and _. They can't contain a space.
Can you create a new user (with a password), and then change the password?
