AC1900 WiFi Range Extender & Nighthawk X6 R8000 & Firmware Version V1.0.4.28_10.1.54 Settings
Gday all,
Since the rollout of Firmware Version V1.0.4.28_10.1.54 for the R8000 & the MESHing of the AC1900 (EX7000) extender, I have been tweaking & kicking both pieces of hardware in an attempt to achieve a comfortable, extended, faster network at home, but for the life of me I cannot nut out which is the better way to setup both items to work seemlessly with eachother.
Presently both are using smart connect in 2.4 & 5ghz modes & sharing the same SSID.
The 1900 is primarily used for streaming & is also connected via ethernet to a media box, yet I am still not achieveing the streaming as good as it was prior to the implementation of the Mesh upgrade on the 1900 & the new firmware on the R8000.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I have better things to do than spend my life sorting out these two boxes since the upgrades. Like drinking beer & watching a flik without network issues. Previously I had no real issue but performance has definately dropped since the two changes in firmwares.
Both boxes have been factory reset since the upgrades.
Attached is the current setup of the 1900... Notice how the 5Ghz is disconnected? No matter what I do, that's how it remains.
Thanks in advance & all that jazz 🙂
