WiFi Extender

About a year ago I bought a WiFi extender and I just began to use it again after having no need for it for quite a while. While setting it up, I got a good connection to it for about a day before it would continue to say I had a signal but I wasn't connected to the Internet. When I checked, it gives me this warning about connecting to the WiFi network but it won't load because the certificate is expired. It will allow me to connect but when I try to use the Internet through the extender, nothing will load. I don't know how to renew the certificate or why it needs renewing if all it is is a WiFi extender, but I've factory reset it a few times to see if that was the problem, only to get the same results. Anybody know how to update or renew the certificate?

I'm using the AC1200 WiFi Range Extender EX6110. I've set it up using the guide from the website---What guide? There's multiple. And did you set it up in mesh or standard with a separate ssid

and it's connected to a Spectrum router,--which one? Some of theres had/have issues with extenders

and the extender itself is exactly at a halfway point between where I need to connect and the router---doesn't mean its in a good spot. Halfway could be to far. Or to near if in mesh. Its also important for whats in between. The walls themselves can block wifi if they're plaster lathe. Or hvac in the walls. Sometimes a lateral move can help to remove those blockages. Its why we ask how far, whats between.
. I updated the firmware to the latest (that I know of)---so what version is it on?

but it still gives me a security warning a d doesn't let me connect to the network.---whats giving you a security warning? And what is that warning?

Details are key. Troubleshooting over a forum isn't easy so the more detailed you are, the better we can help you. You might not think its important (and it might not be) but many times, the little things are what cause the issues.

  • What extender model do you have?

    Firmware on it?

What router is it connected to?

How far from the router are you and what is in between the 2 devices?

What method of setup did you use? (wps, installation assistant, app, etc)
