Limited download speed on Netgear Orbi AC3000 RBK50v2
Hi folks, I have a Netgear Orbi AC3000 RBK50v2 system with one router and one satellite which has been working fine with my TPG 100Mbps Internet plan. My wifi-connected PC routinely showed 100+Mbps whenever I did a Oookla speed test. So, I just upgraded my TPG Internet to their UltraFast plan, advertised as having 800Mbps as a typical evening download speed. I have run download speed tests using the router's built-in Ookla-powered speed test and it shows consistent results of around 640Mbps which I'm satisfied with. However, my wifi-connected PC routinely delivers just under 200Mbps - I have scheduled Ookla speed tests on the hour and the results are consistent. My wifi-connected PC is an Intel NUC 12 Extreme which supports gigabit wifi so I'm puzzled as to why I'm only getting around 200Mmps when the router gets 640Mbps. Is roughly a third to be expected? My PC is the only active client during some of these tests so I was expecting closer to the 640Mbps. Are there wifi settings I should investigate that might improve my situation?Orbi RBR40 Magenta no wifi but ethernet works
I'm trying to help out someone with this router. The top light is magenta and the wireless network does not show, but if you directly connect to one of the LAN ports, it does have internet access. Their power went out, and after it was restored they could not use their Orbi system. They had a new modem replaced by their ISP and I enabled bridge mode on the modem but still nothing. I brought the router back to my place to try it on my self owned modem, and still the same issue. Failed troubleshooting steps: Factory reset with paper clip for 15 sec Tried using the Orbi app to set up as new device Tried orbilogin.com/net, routerlogin.com/net, 192.168.0.1, and 192.168.1.1 (the last one just shows spinning and never loads or gives a response) Without being able to get into the admin portal, I can't even see if there is a firmware update. Does anyone know of any other method to get into the portal. Maybe some kind of override, or some other step I can take?How can you connect to the RBS50Yv2 to review its Configuration in Extender Mode Orbi Outdoor Sat
I have an Orbi Outdoor Extender (RBS50Yv2) and I think it is functioning properly in Extender mode, not Orbi mode, but I want to review the configuration but I seem unable to connect to it. I see the NETGEAR_EXT SSID but when I try to connect, it always fails. Is this as designed? Should I be able to connect to its default WiFi and review the configuration at any point? Is there another way of doing it? When I look at my entire ORBI Pro network, I do not see the device or MAC address to be able to connect to its IP address. Any pointers would be welcomed. Hello. I have had the netgear Orbi rbr50 and rbs50 for about 6 years. Has worked great overall. I have 3 rbs50 satellites. I have had some connection issues the past few months, to the point they all disconnected. I’ve followed advice from previous posts and was able to get 2 back online, so thank you very much to everyone who contributes. The 3rd is interesting. Instead of being recognized as a satellite in the network map, it is listed under a connected device within the app to the rbr50. I can only get it to connect when I connect it via cat cable to the rbr50 or one of the rbs50’s. It otherwise does not sync. Any suggestions on how to get it recognized as a satellite again? I’ve attached a screenshot of what I see in the app. When wired, it will be recognized as a wired connected device labeled rbs50 but not a satellite in the network. Thank you!RBR50V2
New to posting here so hopefully it hasn’t already been asked. I moved to a new house and just brought over my router and it will connect to the internet but speeds are extremely slow. From the Orbi app speed test they are at 600+, but from my laptop they go from 120 down to 0 and then average 20. I was about to just go buy a new router but I stopped by the old house that still has internet set up and plugged in the router and worked perfectly. Both houses have spectrum internet. I’ve reset the router multiple times and still get the same results. Have it go thru the auto setup and still the same. When I plug in from the modem directly to computer, 600+. I had my company’s IT on the phone and they were just as stumped as me. Is there some setting that I’m missing to get this to work? I have a RBS50Y that is flashing red (corrupted firmware) upon boot, and will not reset no matter what I try (30, 30,30), several reboots... still flashes red. I connected a USB to Serial adapter and can communicate with it with no problems, but this RBS50Y has no ethernet connections so I'm not sure what my options are loading firmware. The nmrp and tftp options don't want to start since it can't find any ethernet. The RBS50Y is also not broadcasting wifi or I would try loading firmware that way. You can see the other errors I see upon boot. Verifying Checksum ... Bad Data CRC rootfs checksum error !!! No ethernet found. Firmware recovering from TFTP server is stopped or failed! 😞 Anyone have any ideas? I'm going to explore more but thought I would check here first. Thanks!!
