Hello Netgear people! I have the Netgear M5 and have been using for a couple years, I recently returned from overseas and tried to reconnect the device using both Lebara (Vodafone) and Belong (Telstra) simcards and cannot get a signal and hence a connection. Details of my Nighthawk M5 - (MR5200-100EUS) Hardware version 1.2 Firmware version NTGX55_12.04.17.00 Firmware built date 2023/03/01 Modem version MPSS.HI.2.0.c3.5-00010-SDXX55_CPEALL_PACK-1.403198.3 I have the overseas model but have used it plenty in Australia - I have tried APN settings, band settings, factory reset and updated firmware last night. I've found this supporting the model working in Europe and Aus - https://kb.netgear.com/000063963/Which-mobile-carriers-are-compatible-with-my-NETGEAR-mobile-hotspot-or-fixed-wireless-device but know it works as I've had a Belong sim in the device 6 months ago and it worked a treat. I am stuck and wondering if anyone has any practical tips to get this paper weight connected to the internet? I am even trying to see if its possible to jailbreak or load with open source software if someone has done this with an M5 unit before any help would be greatly appreciated! thanksNighthawk M2 IP PassThrough stops working when idle
So I have a Nighthawk M2 in IP PassThrough with a VPN tunnel uplink over time it disconnects from 4G network for some reason and as soon as I login to the Nighthawk it springs to life. firmware NTG24_10.19.03.00 So anyone else having this problem? the ISP is o2MR6500-1TLAUS Missing Reboot /Restart icon.
Hi everyone, wondering if anyone here using Telstra Nighthawk M60 Pro with firmware NTGX65_12.01.41.00_00 is missing the "Reboot/Restart" functionality ? Had and OTA update last year from NTGX65_12.01.38.00_00 to NTGX65_12.01.41.00_00 (latest) and noticed it went missing. Been waiting for a firmware update from Telstra which never came and wondering if anyone here is running firmware much more latest than mine. ThanksLM1200 - can't upgrade firmware
Hello, I've recently connected an LM1200 modem as a failover WAN. However, I can't update it via the online checker - I receive an error that says "There was a problem updating your device. Please try again later." but it has failed over several days. I've also downloaded the firmware (LM1200-100EUS_23114953_NTG9X07W_20.06.09.00_EMEA_04.19_00-field.010.spk) from the Netgear website but altough it uploads to the modem I get this message: I've seen other reports of the same problem but there doesn't seem to be a universal fix. I wondered if anyone else had managed to resolve this issue.Nighthawk M5 5G standalone (SA) support
Is the Nighthawk M5 router going to get 5G SA support? I'm from Finland and as a customer of Elisa, I've had access to their SA network for quite a while now. It is my understanding that this should be quite easily achievable with a firmware upgrade. As far as I was able to find, support has not been added. I am fully aware that this is a discontinued product but considering its price, which was by far one of the highest (if not the highest) of its category, and the fact that it was (still kind of is) a top of the range product, I'd expect to recieve at least compatibility updates like this (or why are we paying premium for Netgear's products if they don't get premium support...?). Just as an example, the M6 (non-Pro) currently cost basically 250 € more than any other 5G router, mobile or otherwise, on the market here, and it was the same with the M5. So what are we paying extra for?MR6110-1A1NAS no firmware update
I just purchased a refurb AT&T branded unit (claims unlocked but I don't have the SIM yet so we'll see) and I think it's stuck on old firmware. The label under the battery shows model MR6110-1A1NAS, hardware v1.0, SKU 6237D. I configured Internet > WiFi Offloading on the unit then connected a table to it's wifi to set it up to use my home wifii to try and do a firmware updated before the SIM arrives. The UI is reporting firmware version NTGX65_10.04.22.01, with a build date of Jan 11 2023, and also that it's up to date. But other forum posts about MR6110, such as this one, indicate newer firmware exists.MR6150 - Cannot connect to 5G only bands
I recently upgraded the firmware on my Netgear M6 MR6150 and for some reason I have lost the ability to connect to only "5G" bands under CELLULAR > BAND REGION. I used to have this option before. Under Cellular now I only have 2 options, "4G" and "ALL (4G + 5G)". I already had the MR1100 and I bought the MR6150 specifically because of the 5G capabilities. Without having the ability to connect to 5G, this is a loss for me. I am now getting similar speeds to the MR1100 on my MR6150; and this makes no sense at all. The router keeps connecting to the 4G bands and I have no way to select only 5G bands. I used to have this ability before and now with the latest firmware, the option disappeared. I paid over $600+ for this device. I am on the latest firmware NTGX65_12.01.47.00. Can someone please help me or guide me on how do I get the "5G" only band selection under CELLULAR Attaching image as wellSolvedNBR 750 IPv6 please!!!!
I've been recommending the older LBR20 and the new NBR750 for clients who need a router for an LTE/5G connection in lieu of cable in the area. I've even been using an NBR 750 at home for a tester for about a year. I love the router but HATE how Netgear has hobbled ipv6 support for the wireless (LTE/5G) connection. It's baffling to me that the router supports WAN IPv6 connections if connected to an ethernet WAN link (cable/DSL/etc), but does not support it over the wireless connection, despite the router being capable of receiving an IPv6 address over the wireless connection. Why not allow the router to provide IPv6 addresses even if they are strictly link-local? Or better yet, why not allow the router to provide IPv6 addresses from the prefix delegated to it over the 5G/LTE connection? If you go into the Advanced/Advanced/Ethernet IPv6 in the configuration section for an NBR750 you get an error if you make any changes "FAILURE: No Ethernet Cable is plugged into the Router Internet Port." Can you please fix the firmware to enable IPv6 for users who are using this strictly as a LTE/5G router? Why hobble this? I've had to stop recommending these for clients and frankly have stopped all Netgear recommendations as the seeming arbitrariness of this (especially considering the importance of IPv6 support for things like gaming when having to deal with CGNAT) leads me to question just what Netgear is trying to do. Please fix this!Nighthawk M2 Router - Issues with Intra-Network Data Transfer Speeds
Hello everyone, I've encountered some significant issues with the Nighthawk M2 router regarding the speed of data transfer between devices connected to the same WiFi network. Please note that these issues do not affect internet browsing speeds, which are functioning perfectly. Problem Description After conducting several tests, I've observed the following: - When the WiFi profile is set to "Dual-Band WiFi", two computers connected to the same network can exchange data at speeds of 10-18 Mb/s, regardless of whether they connect via the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz band. - When the WiFi profile is set to either "2.4 GHz Only" or "5 GHz Only", the data transfer speed between two computers drops drastically to about 0.1 Mb/s, with numerous data losses. Testing and Results To support this, I've conducted tests using the iperf3 software, both between two MacBook Pros and between a MacBook Pro and a Raspberry Pi. These tests indicate that the issue persists across different devices. TCP data transfers are blocked by the router, and only ICMP traffic (e.g., ping) is allowed. Impact To facilitate data exchange between two computers using the Netgear M2, it is necessary to keep the "Dual-Band WiFi" option enabled. This results in higher power consumption and shorter battery life, which is not ideal for a device that should efficiently manage client communications. I hope this problem can be addressed in a future firmware update, as it significantly impacts the router's performance in enabling client-to-client communication. Thank you for your attention to this matter. AndreaPossible Firmware bug MR6550
I am in the process of replacing my MR6500 with an MR6550 because of an channel issue with the 5G network for T-Mobile in my primary usage area. The issue is I use this as a backup connection for my home network. I am using this device in Bridging (IP Passthrough) mode so that the cell IP is assigned to my firewall. In this configuration the MR6500 will allow me to set the IP address of 192.168.254.1 for example and will answer that, providing that routing is set up correctly on the firewall, for management of the device. However, when I do this same style configuration on the MR6550 I set the IP address to 192.168.253.1 and then when I enable the IP Passthrough the device reboots and the IP of the device is changed from whatever I have it configured to and goes to 192.168.3.1. I see this as a bug because I see no hardware reason for this limitation. I tried to report this via a support ticket to Netgear and am not able to since I can’t register as I bought the MR6550 second had and am not able to register the device, so I am not able to report this issue without paying the $99 for a support contract. Anyone know the best way to get this limitation reported to see if the firmware can be patched to act like the MR6500.
