I needed to reinstall my OpenVPN client (after BitDefender's VPN, which I don't use, updated and nuked my OpenVPN client presumably due to shared dependencies), and it took me a while to figure out that the latest versions linked on on the https://openvpn.net/community-downloads/ linked to in the router advanced settings GUI are no longer compatible with the R6400v2 AC1750 router. Something about TLS levels? I'm wondering if Netgear is going to send out a firmware update to restore compatibility to the most recent version of OpenVPN client (2.6.11)? Or at the very least the R6400v2 firmware should be changed to indicate in the VPN instruction not to use the most recent version. It concerns me that the VPN is not at the most recent level--I hope this is not a security issue...WNR2000v5 R2 N300 Firmware Upgrade Download Not Compatible
Product is the WNR2000v5 R2 (serial number 4KX1665H060EF) with Firmware Version V1.0.0.38 and I want to patch security vulnerabilities. When attempting to upgrade to V1.0.0.80, I get error: "This firmware file is incorrect! Please get the firmware file again and make sure it is the correct firmware for this product." Netgear support download site (https://www.netgear.com/support/product/wnr2000v5#download) does not contain any mention of "R2". Download available for WNR2000v5 is V1.0.0.80 and support site previous versions does not list V1.0.0.38 as available (listing skips from .34 to .42). What is the most up-to-date firmware for WNR2000v5 R2?R6300 Does not recognize USB HDD attached
R6300 Router with upgraded firmware to R6300-V1.0.2.80_1.0.59. WD 16TB HDD attached to the router USB port. Same drive and USB connector works perfectly when attached to a computer but is not recognized by the router. Have checked advanced USB settings and toggle is set to recognize any HDD attached through the USB. After the firmware upgrade and the toggle set above, is there anything else I can try or is this HDD just too big to ever be recognized? Thanks in advance #R6300SolvedAC1750 R6400v2 stuck on 802.11a\g?
For some reason, my devices (like windows laptops) are unable to use anything other than 802.11a on 5GHz and 802.11g on 2.4GHz. I noticed this because I was only able to download at 30mbps on 5GHz, and I've seen much faster speeds before. I am running the latest firmware at the time of writing (V1.0.4.128_10.0.104). 2.4GHz channel selection is set to auto, Mode is set to "upto 450 mbps" 5GHz channel selection is set to 153, Mode is set to "upto 1300 mbps" I have checked for signal crowding using the Ping Tools app on my phone, and congestion seems fine Airtime Fairness was on, but toggling made no difference. Beamforming is on WMM QoS is disabled I'm at a loss. Is this a firmware issue? If it is, how can I file a bug report with netgear?SolvedR6080/AC1000 router connection

I've been having this issue where my internet cuts out on 30 minute intervals for about 5-10 seconds. I'm using an ARRIS SURFboard SB6190 for my modem plugged into my AC1200 WiFi Router (R6230) router. Sample of the router logs: [Time synchronized with NTP server us.pool.ntp.org] Thursday, March 23,2023 11:49:40 [Internet connected] IP address: 69.253.146.159, Thursday, March 23,2023 11:49:31 [Time synchronized with NTP server us.pool.ntp.org] Thursday, March 23,2023 11:19:52 [Internet connected] IP address: 69.253.146.159, Thursday, March 23,2023 11:19:30 It doesn't happen every single 30 minutes every cycle but always at around the same minute interval . For instance it may happen 1:35 then 2:05 and then 3:05 and then 5:35. It may go a few hours between each occurence. The modem logs don't show any of this behavior, and the half hour interval changes to a different one when I power cycle the router so I think it's the router with the issue. I've tried a factory reset on my router this morning and it's still doing it. I have the latest firmware. At this point I'm considering flashing an old firmware but I've never done that before, or just getting a new router. Anything else I could/should try?Solved6.4KViews0likes6Comments
