1Gbit/s FTTH and Orbi ....

I changed my ISP for a new one which offer me FTTH (1Gb/s), and I want to optimize my setup.

I currently have my RBK53 use as AP mode only connected to my Synology Router.

My new ISP gave me a fritzbox but I don't even want to open it as I believe my Synology RT1900AC is much better.

Obivously both my Router and RBK53 have 1GB/s limitation in ethernet, would the better option to connect the  FTTH (ONT BOX) to my Synology Router and then connect 4 different ethernet (or at least two) from the router to the RBK53 to have something like dual balancing throught the different port/eth ? Or does that make zero sense?

Thank you in advance

  • Keep AP mode.

You can't connect more then one LAN cable from the primary router to the Orbi base. Load balancing isn't supported on home class routers.
