4G LTE cellspot and Orbi satellite

Sorry I am not really a tech person.  I have an Orbi RBR50 plugged into my internet with 2 satellites.  I just got a T-mobile 4G LTE cellspot that I need to plug the ethernet cable from the WAN port into an available Ethernet port on my wi-fi router or wi-fi cable modem router.  My question is can I plug the WAN into an available Ethernet port on one of my two satellites or does it have to be plugged into the actual router?  Thank you for any help!

  • It's recommended to plug the WAN connection into the primary router in a mesh Wi-Fi network, which serves as the hub for the network's overall configuration and traffic. Plugging it into a satellite node may result in slower speeds, less reliable connections, and potential issues with file sharing, printing, and streaming. The satellite nodes are designed to extend the range and coverage of the network, but they rely on the primary router for optimal performance and communication with other devices.

  • You should also be aware it can cause a double nat running 2x routers.

Easiest fix is to put the orbi in Access point mode. It does disable some features but tends to be the easiest.

Or you can put the tmobile gateway in passthrough mode.

so you'd go tmobile gateway---->wan port on router----->satellites.
