Thanks, I now think the apple TV device , an older gen(1st gen 4k) becomes spotty and buffers when at 1GB wifi.
If the current ISP connection is 500Mbps (from the original statement above), how can the Apple TV be connected to 1G WiFi?
This Apple TV has the same WiFi capabilities as the RBR50. (802.11ac). Actual performance will depend on distance from the WiFi access point and anything "in the way". For example, people often push electronics behind the TV set, which can drastically affect WiFi performance.
