It appears that you’re not alone in noticing the absence of per-device bandwidth usage tracking in the Orbi system with firmware version 2.1.4.10. Earlier versions of the Orbi firmware did include a feature that allowed users to view data usage by individual devices over different time periods, much like what Google Wifi offersSome users have suggested using third-party tools or enabling traffic monitoring features via advanced settings, if available, though these options may be limited and less user-friendly.I hope someone can help with my query about using the Orbi RBR50v2 in AP mode.
I know this is a very old discussion from 2019, but I hope someone can help with my query about using the Orbi RBR50v2 in AP mode. Currently, I'm using the Orbi RBR50v2 in AP mode and everything is working well (with several Orbi RBS50v2 and RBS20 satellites connected without ethernet backhaul) but I'm considering switching my ISP modem/router from bridge mode back in router mode, so I'm trying to investigate if the whole Orbi wifi mesh system will just automatically just work with all satellites automatically connecting after I've switched the Orbi RBR50v2 into AP mode or whether I will have to do a complete system setup from scratch again. I'd appreciate any comments and /or suggestions if putting the Orbi RBR50v2 into AP mode is a simple option or whether it will be very complicated to get it all working again.Need to force phone to connect to 2.4GHz, how?
Hi I have the ORBI RB50 system. Today I installed a heat pump for my pool and the heat pump has a wifi interface and an app to connect to it, the app is called Inverboost. It says the phone with the app must be connected to 2.4 GHz, as the heat pump. However, my phone is generally connected to the 5GHz Wifi, and I can't find any way to force it to 2.4GHz, either in the router or in the phone. The app says the heat pump is off line, but when I look in the router I can see the heat pump is connected. How can I fix this?Google Pixel 9 and Orbi Wi-Fi 5 issues
I've had my Orbi setup for years with little to no problems. However, for the past 2 weeks, my Google Pixel 9 Pro phone has behaved like it's on a dial-up modem connection when on my home wifi. It's fine with five other Wifi networks I use regularly, and its good with just the regular T-Mobile data connection. But it's definitely not happy with the Orbi Wifi. The last change to the Pixel was April 5th (system update) which was over a month ago, and it was fine for 2 weeks after. I've even done the Pixel 'reset network and Bluetooth settings' option to wipe the config from the phone and start fresh. On the Orbi, I've twiddled some of the advanced Wifi settings in the config but it's not changed anything. Has anyone else run into this? Any thoughts or suggestions? Other phones (iPhone, OnePlus) seem fine on the network.Orbi RBR50v2/RBS50v2 Slow Speeds on Gigabit Internet
Hi there, I currently own the Orbi Router RBR50v2 & Orbi Satellite RBS50v2 and currently have a Gigabit internet (A HFC connection). On Ethernet, I get speeds of 940 Mbps (Download) and on Wi-Fi I am seeing speeds of 150-250 from a distance of 1m from the router. My ISP has confirmed it does not seem to be anything on their end, and it could be the configuration of the router. I am on the latest firmware on the Orbi and have tried basic troubleshooting, however, I have not made any progress. I have a friend who has the same internet connection, ISP, router and basically has mimicked my setup and has no issues. They get around 600Mbps (Download) on Wi-Fi. I do understand different areas, house, interference can come into play hence why our speeds are different. My ISP advised I should be able to get much faster speeds. Does anyone have any ideas? ThanksOrbi RBK 50 + RBW30
RBK50 (Router + Satellite) with 2 x RBW30 satellites. I have spent more than 4 hours in 3 days on phone with support to try and resolve issues of the following: RBK50 router reboots randomly. Devices nearest to Satellites use Router at further distance. AP isolation issue related to Google Home devices makes them unavailable if you are connected to a different satellite than that device. More frequent reboots than without Satellites. My RBK50 without RBW30 with reboot at least twice a day for no reason but more with Satellites. I am not sure what to make of this. Support goes through the playbook of 'Reboot please'. 'Re-sync please'. 'Update firmware', 'downgrade firmware'. 'Disconnect satellite', 'reconnect'. 'Hold on let me check with my team'. This can't be poor quality control can it? There seem to be numerous reports of similar issues. I have spent close to $600 on my Orbi system and all we have is outsourced consumer support and these user forums which Netgear support seems largely absent from. Is there any solution to the rebooting issue or a way to pinpoint the cause?Orbi Satellite RBS50 Not Connecting via Ethernet
Hello all! Our home is fairly large and was built by the Moravians (lots of stone), so we needed to connect the satellites via an ethernet cable. So recently I updated the Orbi RBR50, and RBS50's to firmware Version 2.1.2.18, which I was told makes them possible to connect via the ethernet. Now, one satellite is hooked up via the ethernet, but the other changes between the ethernet and 5G connection and gives significantly slower speeds. I've tried resetting it to factory settings and reinstalling the firmware. Is there still something wrong? Am I doing something wrong? Thanks so much ahead of time for all the help!SolvedMajor Failures After Firmware 2.0.0.74 Upgrade!
ORBI firmware version 2.0.0.74 is failing! I have used the ORBI RBK50 system since Apr 2017. While running the 1.xx.xx firmware, the conection was incredibly reliable & fast. I had max speeds from all my devices: several PCs running Windows 10, & an iMac running Sierra (10.12)[High Sierra (10.13) since Sep 25th]. I had reliably uploaded/downloaded hundreds of GB of data each month. This included successful backups to Crashplan & later IDrive. I was very happy with my ORBI. On Oct 1st, I updated my firmware to version 2.0.0.74. By Oct 2nd, I began having significant connectivity problems. Since then, I have tried several suggestions from another thread but the failures continued. Today, I performed the following steps: Factory reset all devices (router & 2 satellites) Performed initial installation Changed satellite names to Satellite-1 & Satellite-2 Rebooted xfinity router Rebooted ORBI router Restarted IDrive backup The connection is still failing! I am lucky to backup a handful of files before IDrive reports a dropped connection! I am not happy. I feel NETGEAR caused this problem with the 2.0.0.74 update. I will be very pissed if I have to pay for premium support to solve this problem!SolvedCan't get Orbi to work with Circle
I have Android 8.1.0 and I can't get Orbi to work with Circle. I open Circle app and click "Get Started". It says make sure you are connected to your router, which I am. So I click Next. Then it says that your firmware is out of date (which it is not!!!!). So it asks if I would like to update the firmware and gives to choices to the question: Yes Please or No Thanks. If I choose no thanks, it stops the whole thing as if I did not want circle at all. If I choose "Yes Please", it gives me a login prompt for my router credentials, which I put in. Then it says "Updating Firmware .... take a break this will take a few minutes". After a long time, it then says: "Reconnect to your router .. Return to the Wi-Fi settins on this Android device and connect back to <myssid>. When you return here, we'll enable circle on your router. " But I am already on the orbi's ssid. So then I click Next. Then it says "Enabling Circle .... This will just take a moment. Then it says the same thing as before "Reconnect to your router .. Return to the Wi-Fi settins on this Android device and connect back to <myssid>. When you return here, we'll enable circle on your router. " The "Next" button replaced with a non-clickable button that says "Logging In ..." It stays there the rest of the time. What is wrong?
