Certain android apps stopped working or are slower than before...

Hi there,

Since a few days, I'm having trouble using a few apps on :

3 android phones (on wifi) -> Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, Samsung Galaxy S10, Samsung Galaxy S21

2 tablets (on wifi) -> Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e, Samsung Galaxy Tab S10+

1 Media box (cable connection) -> Nvidia Shield Pro

ISP Modem/Router is set to bridge.

My Mesh Wifi System

Netgear Orbi RBR50v2 + 2 Satellites RBS50v2 (firmware up to date to the last version, on all three)

The mesh wifi system has functioned without complaint for about 3 years. I experienced problems for the first time after a reboot of the Mesh Wifi System about 2 weeks ago.

I first noticed problems using several track and trace apps for following postal shipments in the Netherlands. The apps did not load to their start screens; which normally takes about a second to load. Then I wanted to watch Formula 1 last week. This I usually do with the app F1TV Pro. Only the splash screen of the app was shown and visually it did seem to continue working; it bassically is stuck and will not finish loading.

Other apps, such as a a local tv app are slower than usual.

I have a few streaming services installed on the Nvidia Shield Pro such as HBOMax and Netflix.

the HBOMax app does start but does not stream.

Netflix is working normally.

Youtube is working normally.

Standard phone apps like mail, samsung browser, google chrome are working normally.

I have 3 weather apps installed on my phone, 2 are working normally, 1 does not.

When I switch to the mobile network of my phone provider these problems all vanish for all of my android devices, be it directly or using my phone as a mobile hotspot.

I have contacted my ISP, because I first thought they could help me solve the problem; I hoped they would find something by checking my internet connection. But they found nothing out of the ordinary; everything works fine. That only leaves the Orbi Mesh Router behind the bridged ISP modem/router.

I know how to set up the system but I am no expert in this. Now I don't know how to tackle this issue.
Does anyone have a similar problem and had it fixed?

Has a power off for 1 minute then back ON with the ISP modem and router and satellite(s) been performed since last update?

Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:

    Turn off and unplug modem.

    Turn off router and computers.

Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.

Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.

Turn on computers and rest of network.

What channels are you using? Auto? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and 40 to 48 channel on 5Ghz.

Be sure to disable any MAC Address randomizers on phones and pads while at home:

FW version loaded on the Orbi system?

Brand and model# of ISP modem the RBR is connected too?

Try disabling the following and see:

Armor, Smart Parental Controls or Circle, IPv6, Traffic Meter.

If the ISP and Orbi systems have been working well and only items of Android or Android apps has changed, would be something to contact Android or the Mfr of the apps about.
