Altice One
CAn someone help me. I bought the Orbi RBK50 and I have Altice one through optimum. I have 3 cable tv boxes that have the WiFi built in to them along with 4 Ethernet ports on the back.

I have the Sagemcom DGCI384. I have to call my isp which I think they want me to pay a premier tech service because it’s not one of their devices. Wondering since it’s a cable modem if another option would be to split the service before it comes to my house and add a cable modem so I would have 2 services and not be going through their modem.
Another suggestion would be to find a modem only device that your ISP supports. Find something with out a built in router with the modem. Just a modem only.

I have called Optimum, they cannot bridge the router, its built in pass through mode they said. They also cannot disable the wifi either, only stop broadcasting the SSID. I asked about installing another modem before it hits their equipemtn but they said I would have to register it and then its $50 a month for that. UGH! I cant believe I am stuck with this without having to rip all the stuff out of not use my netgear product.

Well if they can stop broadcasting the SSID on there modem, might help.
I have a friend on Optimum and we are going thru similar issues. He did ask them and they do allow for user bought modems. He did check again and asked them about a Arris SB6183 and they said that was supported. Possible you got ahold of someone not interested in working a deal for you. Others on dslreports.com mention using stand alone modems on Optimum ISP. You may want to try a higher level tech support.
- I am curious to know if what she said was true that if I purchase my own modem that it would have to be registered with them. Right now it comes into the house to a splitter then goes to each cable box/router. If I put a modem before the splitter will it work or will I have to pay for something more you think?
