Buffering Issue on Newly Installed Orbi RBR50

I just installed the RBR50 with the Orbi Voice Satallie.  Everything seems to working great and I'm getting excellent speed on wifi.   However, I am having buffering issues that were not there prior to installing the Orbi.    With Netflix, it takes a long time to load, plays a couple of seconds and sterts buffering again. With Spectrum App, it just keeps buffering.  I have tried on Roku and Samsung TV apps.   This is fustrating and disappointing.     I am thinking of returning to the set back to Costco and give  Amazon's Eero a try.   I saw some posts with similar issue and the fix seems complicated.  Anyone have the same issue?

  • What Firmware is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the ISP modem the NG router is connected too?
Is the Orbi system operating in Router or AP mode?

What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router and satellite(s)? 30 feet is recommended in between RBR and RBS to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected. https://kb.netgear.com/000036466/How-far-should-I-place-my-Orbi-satellite-from-my-Orbi-router

What channels are you using? Auto? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and any unused channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?

Try enabling Beamforming and MIMO(MIMO may or maynot be needed) and WMM. Under Advanced Tab/Advanced Settings/Wireless Settings

Try disabling the following and see:
Armor, Circle, Daisy Chain, Fast Roaming, IPv6 and Set 20/40Mhz Coexistence to 40Mhz only. Save settings and reboot the router and satellite(s).

Thank you for your suggestions.   I deactivated Armor and it worked!   The buffering on both the Spectrum and Netflix app stopped.

The RBR50 is running firmware version V2.5.1.8 and operating in Router mode.

Good to hear. Armor is a security program so this may cause streaming issues. Keep it activated if you need when your not streaming. Otherwise, disable it.

        Enjoy. :smileywink:

I was having a very similar issue.  Started out of the blue about a week ago.  My Orbi system had been working flawlesly then all of a sudden I started seeing random lag and delays playing netflix.  First I thought it was just the titles I was playing but then it effected all titles and across three different devices. Only seemed to effect netflix on my streaming devices.  Did not matter if I was wired or wireless.  Disabling Armour was the fix.
