Can a CBK40 modem/router be used only as a router; i.e. behind a separate modem.
Can a CBR40 be used as a router only? I'm having network problems and, although the CBR40 isn't all that old, I'm willing to replace it, along with a couple extenders that have worked well over the years.
In the past I've used a separate modem, but the CBR40 was the first time I used router/modem. Because there's a chance that my network issues may be related to the modem function, it would be a way forward to install the new modem into the network. If the CBR40 can be used as a router only, I could see if the issues are with the modem. If not, then I'd replace the router/modem and extenders with (probably) a mesh system.

No. Only works as a gateway modem/router or in modem only or a faux wired AP mode operation. No router mode.
