I would say you would probably want 2 satellites. Place them on the the main floor about a 1/4 of the way to the edge of the rectangle. You want the satellite within the good coverage area of the router. they will then extend that coverage out.
Someone may correct me, but I think I remember seeing a setting for reducing the power. Mainly you should choose either 1, 6, or 12 for the 2.4 band. That will cause the least interference. Just pick the one least used. The 5 gHz band penetrates less and is less used so you'll probably be OK leaving it on auto.
