Changing from 5 to 2.4 on a Netgear Orbi rb50 from IOS
Hi
I hae only does this once before and I can't remember how to do it. I have a Weather station that needs to connect on setup to 2.4. I have tried bringing down the satellites and moving closer and farther away from the base station but this doesn't bring it into 2.4. The instructions on line are not correct from the updates. Can someone tell me how to put it into 2.4 for setup?

Turn OFF the RBS. Then change the power output of the 5Ghz radio to 25%. Then connect your mobile device at a distance from the RBR to ensure the mobile phone keeps connected to the 2.4Ghz radio. After you get the IoT device connected, re-configure the system back to where it was. Under Advanced Tab/Advanced Settings/Wireless Settings
Netgear has set up a community forum specifically for the Orbi AC products. Most of the people who watch that forum are more likely to have experience with Orbi and know how to work it better than those of us who follow this router forum. Might be more likely to find someone who has a solution if the question is posted there:

Would you mind identifying which brand/model of weather station this is?

It is a La Crosse View Model C84343. Here is what La Crosse is telling me - try using the guest network to connect. Is the guest network always set to 2.8 because I can't find anywhere in the Orbi settings where it says that?

No, the Orbi Guest WiFi broadcasts both 2.4G and 5G WiFi channels. I noticed that the Lacrosse support claims that their device works with mesh systems:
Specificallly:
Yes, this display will work with any Wi-Fi router meant for home use. All 5GHz, Dual Band, Mesh, 6.0 and other WiFi routers also support 2.4GHz WiFi. The display will use the 2.4GHz band to connect with the router. This process will work on this model even if it’s a Mesh router and if the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands use the same SSID (network name).
Someone at Lacrosse was misinformed.
